Designed by Kipp Stewart of Big Sur, Ventana is a completely unique Central Coast California resort where 12  one- and two-story buildings of weathered cedar are scattered in a mountain meadow among landscaped gardens. Accented by redwood, oak and bay laurel trees, 60 oversized guestrooms, and spacious suites offer rustic sophistication and romantic allure.

All accommodations feature a deck or patio with forest, canyon, mountain or distant ocean views. Some decks have personal outdoor spas. Most rooms have a wood-burning fireplace, separate living area, a spacious bath with open enclosure slate/tub/shower, dressing area and custom bath amenities. Interior appointments include luxurious king-size bed. Color tones keep in harmony with the coastal setting: sage, rust, deep browns, cream and soft gold tones. Amenities include luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, hooded terry cloth robes, slippers, umbrella, binoculars, in-room safe, refreshment honor bar, coffee and tea service, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, telephone, daily newspaper, walking sticks, flashlights and nightly turndown service.

Newly renovated suites have flat screen LCD television monitors, DVD players and Bose surround sound systems. All other accommodations have flat-screen televisions for use with DVD. The resort has an extensive complimentary DVD library.

A sumptuous continental Big Sur breakfast buffet is included with each night's stay. Arrangements may be made for in-room delivery. Guests are invited to enjoy a wine and daily hors d'oeuvres welcome reception as well as a yoga class and guided "Ventana Discovery Walk".
